AI data center startup Crusoe has signed a five-year cloud contract with trading firm Jane Street Group valued at around $13 billion, Bloomberg News reported on Thursday, citing people familiar with the matter. Reuters relayed the report. Crusoe and Jane Street did not immediately respond to Reuters requests for comment. Under the deal, Crusoe will provide Jane Street with clusters of GPUs and other infrastructure needed for AI training and inference through its cloud platform, according to the report. Jane Street is described as Crusoe's highest-profile cloud customer yet, and the agreement reportedly helped attract interest in Crusoe's latest fundraising effort. Bloomberg reported in July that Crusoe had been discussing raising around $3 billion at a roughly $30 billion valuation. The contract shows a quantitative trading firm committing capital on the scale of large cloud providers to secure dedicated AI compute, rather than relying only on hyperscalers. For Crusoe, a multi-year anchor customer of this size supports the financing needed to keep building capacity. The company has been expanding its AI infrastructure business as demand for computing power to develop and run AI models drives a surge in data center spending. The figures come from an unconfirmed report and have not been announced by either company.
