Cohere signs a letter of intent to buy Prague-based AI vulnerability-hunting startup Aisle
Aisle says its system found more than 500 previously unknown vulnerabilities in over 100 code bases in the past year.

Toronto-based Cohere said on Thursday that it has signed a letter of intent to acquire Aisle, a cybersecurity startup based in Prague, The Globe and Mail reports. The companies did not disclose financial terms. Aisle was founded in 2024 and builds AI systems that find software vulnerabilities and help fix them. The company says it found more than 500 previously unknown vulnerabilities in more than 100 code bases in the past year. It also says its platform has matched or outperformed competing systems. Cohere CEO Aidan Gomez wrote on LinkedIn that Aisle has focused on defending the critical infrastructure of the open-source ecosystem and has done so "better than many of the more well known efforts." In a blog post, Cohere said it will combine Aisle's autonomous security research with its own AI models. The deal comes as the AI industry deals with the fact that its models can both help defend software and help attackers carry out more sophisticated hacks. A letter of intent is not a final agreement, and the deal's terms and timing have not been disclosed.
