Nvidia is reportedly in early talks to buy, acquihire or invest more in Reflection AI
According to the Financial Times, a deal with the open-weight model developer could come within weeks, though the talks could still fall apart.

Nvidia is in early talks to acquire open-weight model developer Reflection AI or to invest more in it, SiliconANGLE reported, citing the Financial Times. People familiar with the matter said an agreement could come within weeks, but the talks could still collapse. The FT described three ways a deal could be structured. Nvidia could buy Reflection outright. It could increase its stake, possibly together with a larger supply of chips and computing power. Or it could do an acquihire, hiring Reflection's staff and licensing its technology without taking control of the company. The FT said an acquihire would likely avoid a lengthy regulatory review. Nvidia has done both kinds of deal in the past year. In December, inference chip startup Groq licensed its technology to Nvidia in a deal reported at $20 billion, and senior Groq executives moved to the chipmaker. On September 3, Nvidia agreed to buy Hugging Face for $12.9 billion. Nvidia is already a major Reflection investor. It led the startup's $2 billion round in October 2025 and, according to the FT, has put $800 million into the company in total. A deal would bring a US open-weight model maker closer to the dominant AI chip supplier.
