Odyssey opens a free public preview of Odyssey-3, a world model that builds explorable environments from text
The California company says the model scores at the top of physics benchmarks and is meant to serve as a base for controlling robots, drones and game characters.

California-based AI company Odyssey has launched a public research preview of its world model, Odyssey-3. Users can type a text prompt to generate an interactive environment and explore it in real time from different viewpoints. The model simulates physical processes and predicts how an environment changes in response to specific actions. The company says it achieves top scores on physics benchmarks. The online preview is free, and developers can apply for API access. Founders Oliver Cameron and Jeff Hawke first unveiled Odyssey-3 on September 15, with a focus on robotics, autonomous driving and video games. What is new now is public access, along with more technical detail and benchmark results. Beyond generating virtual worlds, Odyssey says Odyssey-3 is designed as a foundation for controlling different systems, including robotic arms and drones in simulated environments and characters in video games. World models like this one are one route labs are taking toward AI that can reason about physical space. Opening it to the public lets outside users and developers test the company's claims directly rather than relying on its demos.
