In a Truth Social post on Sunday, President Donald Trump formally announced a new federal task force, the Super Intelligence Force. Director of National Intelligence Jay Clayton will chair it. Trump said the group will coordinate federal work "to ensure that America continues to lead the World in Super Intelligence." The name follows an executive order Trump signed last week that directs agencies to use "super intelligence" in place of "artificial intelligence" in official correspondence. Federal Trade Commission Chairman Andrew Ferguson, Office of Personnel Management Director Scott Kupor and Emil Michael, the Pentagon's chief technology officer, are vice chairs. According to The Decoder, the force reports directly to the president and to chief of staff Susie Wiles. It will reach out to consumers, public interest groups, religious organizations, critical infrastructure operators and AI companies. Clayton told The Wall Street Journal that a report on the technology's risks and opportunities is due within 120 days. The report will also look at how the government handles disclosure of security breaches and will recommend how agencies can respond better using powers they already have. The charter tells the group to "develop plans for responding to SI-enabled threats to our society, while preventing overregulation and regulatory capture that would stifle innovation and competition." The announcement comes days after AI executives at the White House signed a voluntary safety accord that Trump called "morally binding." SiliconANGLE describes Clayton as the administration's second AI czar.
