Anthropic reportedly pushes its IPO from October to November to show third-quarter results first
The Information and the Wall Street Journal say late October is the earliest date; investors still expect a roughly $2 trillion valuation and a raise of up to $100 billion.

Anthropic is reportedly delaying its initial public offering from October to November 2026, according to The Information and the Wall Street Journal as summarized by The Decoder. The company had targeted October and last week chose Nasdaq for the listing. The reports now put the listing in late October at the earliest and more likely November. Anthropic's advisors say the company wants to present strong third-quarter results before going public. The Decoder questions that explanation, noting that second-quarter results were already described as strong enough to support an offering, and suggests strong third-quarter numbers could instead be meant to lift the stock after listing. Investor expectations are unchanged: a valuation of roughly $2 trillion and a capital raise of up to $100 billion, both of which would exceed the records SpaceX set in its June IPO. The Decoder adds that high costs, competition from OpenAI, rising interest rates and uninsured cybersecurity risks exposed during model testing may also be factors in the delay. OpenAI has already postponed its own IPO to 2027 after CEO Sam Altman called a 2026 listing ill-advised. The delay matters for Nvidia, which was earlier reported to be in talks to anchor the offering with up to $10 billion, and for the broader market reading of whether frontier labs can list amid the current safety and antitrust turmoil.
