Salesforce and Nvidia unveil Koa, a CRM reasoning model trained on synthetic data instead of customer records

Post-trained from Nemotron 3 Super on simulated workflows across 14 industries, the model runs inside Salesforce's own infrastructure as an Agentforce option.

Salesforce used its Dreamforce conference to introduce Koa, its first reasoning model, built with Nvidia by post-training Nvidia's open-weight Nemotron 3 Super. Koa is tuned for sales, marketing, and customer-support work and will be offered as an alternative to other models inside Agentforce, where customers build agents for tasks like answering support questions and scheduling appointments. Salesforce Chief Platform and Engineering Officer Rohan Kumar said the model did not train on customer information stored in the CRM platform. Instead, the company built a synthetic dataset that simulates enterprise workflows across 14 industries, drawn from nearly three decades of internal CRM deployment experience. Nvidia says Koa runs entirely within Salesforce's own infrastructure. TechCrunch argues the model shows how enterprise needs are diverging from what frontier labs offer: a domain-specific model that cannot leak customer data, uses fewer tokens for the same work, can be routed automatically through an AI gateway, and follows a customer's data and security requirements. Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang joined Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff onstage at Moscone Center for the announcement, walking through the crowd and telling the audience that AI as an infrastructure layer means 'we can know everything and do anything.' The launch adds to a pattern of enterprise vendors post-training open-weight bases for narrow work rather than buying frontier access.
