GPT-6 Astra begins reaching ChatGPT Plus subscribers

OpenAI is gradually rolling out ChatGPT Astra, which it describes as its most powerful model to date, to subscribers on the $20 Plus plan, BleepingComputer reports. The model may appear in the ChatGPT Work section before it shows up in the regular Chat model picker. In the reporter's own Plus account, Astra was available in Work but not yet in Chat. OpenAI had previously said the wider rollout would take time. "GPT-6 Astra is now available to all Pro, Enterprise, and Business Premium users in ChatGPT Work and Codex. It's also live in the API," the company wrote on X. "It might take a few days to roll out to our Plus and Business users." There is no word on when free users will get access. Astra usage is included within existing subscription limits, so Plus users do not need a separate plan. Those who need more usage will be able to buy credits. OpenAI positions Astra as its flagship for computer use, browsing, coding and scientific work. For Plus subscribers, the practical advice is to check the Work section if the model is missing from Chat. For developers, the API availability announced earlier already applies.
